Trees

Trees are remarkable. They reduce heat-trapping greenhouse gases by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they grow. They store that carbon in their trunks, branches, roots and surrounding soil. Through photosynthesis, trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen while locking carbon away for decades or even centuries, reducing the amount of CO₂ in the air. Forests also cool the climate by providing shade and releasing moisture, which can lower local temperatures and reduce energy demand for cooling. In addition, healthy tree ecosystems support biodiversity and protect soils, further strengthening natural systems that help regulate the Earth’s climate and slow the impacts of climate change.

We plant trees and support local reforestation efforts together with partners.
