Clean Energy Access for Communities

Our Clean Energy Access program brings solar power to community-serving agriculture and gardening organizations. Whether it lowers a utility bill or provides electricity for the first time, solar helps these groups expand and strengthen the services they offer. Examples include agroforestry centers, nature farmstays, community gardens, seed banks, and farmer cooperatives, among other initiatives

Solar Energy

Solar can make a meaningful difference for the day-to-day work of community-serving agriculture and gardening organizations. For groups already paying high utility bills, the savings can be redirected toward plants and seeds, tools, staff, and community programming. For those operating without reliable grid access, solar can move water, power cold storage for harvests, seed drying and processing equipment, lighting, technology, and the basic tools needed to run an office or classroom. Over time, clean, low-cost energy also makes these organizations more resilient, helping them weather rising energy prices and outages while continuing to serve the communities that depend on them.

Reduces Pollution
A solar electric system can displace fossil fuel-powered electricity which lowers greenhouse gas emissions.
Energy Access
Access to reliable electricity can be life changing. Solar means organizations can power lighting, fans, technology, refrigeration and so much more.
Quality of Life
Good quality of life is often taken for granted, unless you don't have it. Electricity provides access to lights, heating, AC, internet, and other critical loads.
Improves Resilience
Distributed solar energy means power can keep working when the grid goes does so work is not halted during climate events.
