We are a group of passionate environmentalists, bringing together decades of nonprofit and climate solutions experience to implement carbon-negative solutions together with partners.

Jenean Smith, Executive Director

Jenean has worked in the environmental nonprofit industry for 15+ years, as the Vice President of International Programs for GRID Alternatives, as Executive Director for Power to the People and as Youth Program Director for the Riecken Foundation. She also worked for Mitsubishi Electric’s solar division and Trojan Battery’s renewable energy division. Her passion for global programs and clean energy was fueled by her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nicaragua. She has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, an MBA from Northeastern University, and a Master's degree in Sustainable International Development from the Heller School of Policy and Management at Brandeis University.

Romina Garcia, Board Member

Romina Garcia is a strategic operations leader who has held senior leadership roles in the energy storage industry for 15+ years. Her experience spans lithium-based systems at Blue Planet Energy and nickel-zinc technology at ZincFive, where she drives operational excellence and innovation. Romina holds a Master’s in Sustainable International Development from the Brandeis University Heller School. As a Board Member of the Asplund Energy Alliance, Romina brings a pragmatic, systems-level perspective on sustainability, advocating for solutions that are both environmentally responsible and economically viable. Outside of work, she enjoys telemark skiing, snowboarding, hiking, camping, and climbing peaks around Glacier National Park and Whitefish.

Beginning as a mechanical engineer, David Green brings over three decades of experience integrating engineered and ecological systems. His work spans sustainable food systems, education, environmental field science, construction, and maritime operations, with contributions to both entrepreneurial and nonprofit initiatives in the U.S. and abroad. Having previously served on the Power to the People steering committee, David is excited to serve as a Board Member of the Asplund Earth Alliance, advancing a vision grounded in systems thinking, economic viability, and ecological balance. He enjoys travel, time in the backcountry or on the water, and working with youth in outdoor, experiential settings.

Jacqui Wilson is Executive Assistant to the CEO and Board Liaison at U.S. Energy Foundation, where she has worked for over two decades. She is passionate about making meaningful progress towards a clean energy future, and has participated in several off-grid solar installations in rural communities in Nepal and Nicaragua, and served for five years on the Power to the People steering committee. Jacqui has a bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric and Communication from U.C. Davis.
